OAS Mains General Studies II syllabus

2 min read

The official General Studies II syllabus for OAS Mains, unit by unit.

On this page

GS-II tracks the UPSC syllabus closely until three state-specific items: the Odisha Right to Public Services Act and the Odisha Lokayukta Act, Panchayati Raj Institutions in Odisha, and Odisha's relations with its neighbouring states. Those three are asked with some regularity and are not in any national reading list.

Paper III in the Mains scheme. 250 marks, three hours, descriptive. Counted for merit. The syllabus below is reproduced from OPSC's own notification.

Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and Inter-State Relations

    State Relatians

    Common questions

How many marks is General Studies II worth in OAS Mains?

250 marks, three hours, descriptive, and counted towards your final rank. Since the 2022 amendment there are four General Studies papers instead of two.

Does General Studies II have an Odisha-specific section?

No separate Odisha section - the Odisha material is woven through the units rather than set apart, which is why candidates preparing only from national sources under-cover it.
